Buenos Aires cool

Last time I visited home, my best friend's mom insisted that we stay at her place . (She stayed with her niece while we were there - have you ever heard of such ridiculous kindness?!? Insane. That's how incredibly generous people can be. Still blows my mind away.)

Anyway, I just spoke with her the other night and again she pronounced that if we came to visit, we'd stay at her place like last time. How can one resist such a tender, generous gesture..? It would be rude. Foolish, even, since it saves us from having to pay for an apartment or hotel room...

Which brings me to the point of this post: Hotel Home? In Buenos Aires? I may have to check this place out just for fun...! Chalk it up as a tourist destination... (My poor kid and husband are saints. Truly.) Here, take a look - so simple and stylish and filled with vintage details:

...Isn't it incredible? I thought so. The modern lines paired with the vintage pattern of that wallpaper? I love it. Love.it.

(Sure enough, this post has made me a little homesick, so I think I'll look around and see what other cool interiors I can find online that hail from Buenos Aires.... Stay tuned for more to come..!)

  2. Hi Maria,
Whenever we travel abroad, my hubby and I always try to secure an apartment instead of a hotel. It's cozier, there is more room to spread out, you can get up and have a cup of coffee in your pj's, etc. The last two times we took our kids to Italy, we stayed in apartments - some big, some not so big, but always nice. Oh, and another plus - it's actually cheaper than a hotel!

    Ciao!

  3. Lisa - yeah,I definitely agree... Not to mention you have a kitchen and washing machine (sometimes) in an apartment... But I thought these photos were worth sharing. Like I said, I'm going to try to post some pictures of other interiors from Bs As at some point. It's a great city...and I just miss it sometimes, is all...

  5. I love that wallpaper too! And the furniture. I have always thought it would be nice to have an apartment in another city while visiting. Are you from Bueno Aires?

  7. Littlebyrd - I'd LOVE to have an apartment in Buenos Aires (and yes, that's where I'm from).... In fact, I've fantasized about it A LOT... But, yeah. Money is a problem. And, let's say you somehow managed to buy a little apartment... Then getting there is so expensive..! We'll see... Maybe some day...

  8. Oh, I didn't mean my post to sound like I didn't like this hotel in Buenos Aires - I LOVED it! In fact, it reminded me of an apartment - hence my post. Okay, it's Monday and I haven't had my second cup of coffee, so I should know better than to try and get my brain to relay thoughts to my hands, ha ha!!

  10. i didn't know you were from BA! I was there last Feb visiting a friend and stopped into Home Hotel twice for drinks (they have a bar/restaurant open to the public). Their yard is such a lovely green oasis in the city. I'd love to stay there if I visit again. Might be going in November but the flights are so expensive now and other logistics are getting in the way.

  20. I always tell my friends that I like an apartment that is clean and modern. Sadly my house is not, so when I travel, I want to go to the best places with the best furniture to feel like a princess. Last year I went to argentna. all the apartments in Buenos Aires I got were 5 stars. I even had a jacuzzi!!
