Pretty bathrooms

I love this bathroom. And to think it was made from scratch - out of old things and found objects..! I love it even more.

If we manage to pull off this buying and selling feat, there are plans to turn a walk-in closet into a master bath at the little house. We already have the clawfoot tub and the vintage sink (not quite as lovely as this one, but an old beauty nonetheless).

This photo also captures a little bit of what I'd be going for. Less gritty, definitely, but with the same vintage vibe. I love all that white beadboard. I wish I could find the photo of the shower stall in this bathroom - it's just what we may have to end up doing if there is not enough room for a clawfoot tub (I have the magazine, but I can't seem to find a digital picture of it online).

Perhaps we'd have to go with something like Dehlia did in her tiny space:

Ah, my head is brimming with plans and ideas..!

But: I shouldn't get ahead of myself. We'll see how it all goes. We have to sell our house first. Again, fingers crossed. If you feel so inclined, send good, positive thoughts this way my friends.

  5. Sending positive thoughts. I don't think I'm quite adventurous enough to go for the first bathroom - it is gritty. But the general look is lovely.

  7. I can see the first bathroom in a lake cottage or a rustic cabin...that small one is very clever....good luck...we have a small bathroom and I have a clawfoot tub, pedestal sink and toilet...subway tiles and it is my haven!
An ensuite would be such a luxury.

  23. That second bathroom is exactly what I want to do if we ever remodel our upstairs. With the sloped eaves, I'd love to add beadboard throughout (painted white, of course!). And that pedestal sink is just perfect. Can't wait to hear more about your house-hunting adventures, Maria!

  28. I really like the interesting mirror in the first image, the clean white beadboard in the second, and it's funny, I'm usually most drawn to curves, but I like all of the repeated squares in the last image. Fingers crossed, good thoughts sent!

  31. Sending soooo many positive vibes your way! I know you will sell your home, it is gorgeous! I mean come on, I bought a magazine just to enjoy your kitchen over and over again. :)

I love your ideas for the new place. Sounds exactly like what I would do. My landlord was supposed to let me fix up our bathroom. Right now it just has white vinyl (water stained) flooring. That tacky (but at least white) "sheet of plastic looking tile." And a sink faucet with two cold handles (but at least one does let out hot water).
Well he hasn't gotten back to me on when we can renovate.. it's been over two years now. So we shall see....

I'm soooo extremely happy you love your gifts! It makes me happy knowing that they went to you. :)

Have a lovely day, Maria. *sending out more good vibes for the house*

    xoxo,
    Bonnie

  32. I like the second one because of the natural light (it looks like there is a window) the bathroom has. The third one reminds me of a bathroom in Japan. I think it's beautifully done. I like the feeling of my head brimming with ideas how to decorate our new place. I think you'll sell your house with no problem. Who wouldn't be attracted to your house? I'm sending many positive vibes to you! Kaho

  33. I like the 2nd picture. I can't wait to see what you're going to do with the closet!

  34. I forgot to mention that I like the concept of the first one, too! Recycling vintage items by reusing them in the house with a stylish touch is very respectful! -Kaho

  35. yes, bravo! So romantic and nostalgic. Looking at your bathroom transported me in a flash to my grandmother's house and the scent of the particular astringent and clean smelling soap and a slower time where there was no rush and things had a different pace. Lovey - thank you.

  36. these are all such lovely ideas.....and my fingers and toes are crossed for the house to sell:)
