I love this bathroom. And to think it was made from scratch - out of old things and found objects..! I love it even more.
If we manage to pull off this buying and selling feat, there are plans to turn a walk-in closet into a master bath at the little house. We already have the clawfoot tub and the vintage sink (not quite as lovely as this one, but an old beauty nonetheless).
This photo also captures a little bit of what I'd be going for. Less gritty, definitely, but with the same vintage vibe. I love all that white beadboard. I wish I could find the photo of the shower stall in this bathroom - it's just what we may have to end up doing if there is not enough room for a clawfoot tub (I have the magazine, but I can't seem to find a digital picture of it online).
Perhaps we'd have to go with something like Dehlia did in her tiny space:
But: I shouldn't get ahead of myself. We'll see how it all goes. We have to sell our house first. Again, fingers crossed. If you feel so inclined, send good, positive thoughts this way my friends.

love that first one the best!!! swooning over that crusty tub and sink!!!
ReplyDeletehave a blessed weekend!!!
I love the look of vintage dressers in bathrooms & that beadboard on the slanted wall in the 2nd photo is scrumptious! Wow, a bathroom from a walk-in-closet.. this is going to be interesting! :) I am going to send you all my happy DIY ♥♥ positive thoughts ♥♥ for this project up your sleeve, of course sprinkled with some chic vintage dust too!
ReplyDeleteXO-Lara
Sending ultra good vibes from here to there. Can't wait to see it all come together. I really like the beadboard set on the horizontal, so unexpected. I want more more more!
ReplyDeletei love the bead board too and a friend of mine just bought a 1920's house that has that same exact mirror in it. i wanted to take it off her wall! LOL but she loves it too.
ReplyDeleteSending positive thoughts. I don't think I'm quite adventurous enough to go for the first bathroom - it is gritty. But the general look is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love that bathroom. Grit is perfect for camouflaging dust and dirt...
ReplyDeleteMany positive thoughts & good vibrations! If I were in the US, I'd buy your house myself.
I can see the first bathroom in a lake cottage or a rustic cabin...that small one is very clever....good luck...we have a small bathroom and I have a clawfoot tub, pedestal sink and toilet...subway tiles and it is my haven!
ReplyDeleteAn ensuite would be such a luxury.
I love them all. Taking a stolen moment from cooking to indulge myself in your post and of course send lots of fairy dust and love your way.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend. It's HOT here.
Well I love them both and I love the one you have so I have no doubt that you will come up with something beuatifully vintage but simple and elegant.
ReplyDeleteSending the biggest wishes your way........
You already have a little house picked out? I'm anxious to see it.
Have a happy weekend!
Sarah

ReplyDeleteOh, I'm crazy about that first bathroom, too! Would ya just get a load of that glorious mirror over the sink? *squeee*
ReplyDeleteBest wishes on selling your house. We're in the same boat, we're thisssss close to putting in an offer on the little blue farmhouse I've posted about!
Hugs,
Anne
That second bathroom is exactly what I want to do if we ever remodel our upstairs. With the sloped eaves, I'd love to add beadboard throughout (painted white, of course!). And that pedestal sink is just perfect. Can't wait to hear more about your house-hunting adventures, Maria!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing nicer that vintage sinks and bathtubs. Good luck in selling your home. I am sure it will fly off the market. It looks so great in your photos, it will be a hot item.
ReplyDeleteSending you a ton of good luck wishes :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures you've chosen for inspiration....this is fun, being along with you on this house hunting journey.
so lovely. i love the various shades of white.
ReplyDeletexo Alison
wow, these are perfect, maria! i would love to have any of these 3. top photo is my fave, but i love the amazing use of space in the last one. really inspiring. sending good real estate vibes your way, my friend :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the interesting mirror in the first image, the clean white beadboard in the second, and it's funny, I'm usually most drawn to curves, but I like all of the repeated squares in the last image. Fingers crossed, good thoughts sent!
ReplyDeletei love, love that top bathroom. and i'm sure your new space will be just as lovely as your house is now. and i'm sending you good vibes and positive thoughts and all the rest for this next adventure...
ReplyDeleteI'm always sending good thoughts your way. Do you have a home already? It sounds like it.
ReplyDeleteSending soooo many positive vibes your way! I know you will sell your home, it is gorgeous! I mean come on, I bought a magazine just to enjoy your kitchen over and over again. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your ideas for the new place. Sounds exactly like what I would do. My landlord was supposed to let me fix up our bathroom. Right now it just has white vinyl (water stained) flooring. That tacky (but at least white) "sheet of plastic looking tile." And a sink faucet with two cold handles (but at least one does let out hot water).
Well he hasn't gotten back to me on when we can renovate.. it's been over two years now. So we shall see....
I'm soooo extremely happy you love your gifts! It makes me happy knowing that they went to you. :)
Have a lovely day, Maria. *sending out more good vibes for the house*
xoxo,
Bonnie
I like the second one because of the natural light (it looks like there is a window) the bathroom has. The third one reminds me of a bathroom in Japan. I think it's beautifully done. I like the feeling of my head brimming with ideas how to decorate our new place. I think you'll sell your house with no problem. Who wouldn't be attracted to your house? I'm sending many positive vibes to you! Kaho
ReplyDeleteI like the 2nd picture. I can't wait to see what you're going to do with the closet!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention that I like the concept of the first one, too! Recycling vintage items by reusing them in the house with a stylish touch is very respectful! -Kaho
ReplyDeleteyes, bravo! So romantic and nostalgic. Looking at your bathroom transported me in a flash to my grandmother's house and the scent of the particular astringent and clean smelling soap and a slower time where there was no rush and things had a different pace. Lovey - thank you.
ReplyDeletethese are all such lovely ideas.....and my fingers and toes are crossed for the house to sell:)
ReplyDeletexo
Positive thoughts your way Maria! x The first bathroom is absolutely perfect for me! I'll take two! One for upstairs and one for downstairs! I love the way everything is slightly mismatched and shabby, really lovely.
ReplyDeletei like the sound of "little house" and i just know you'll like the feel of "little house"! best to you and of course, big house will sell soon!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for you Maria. I really hope you get the house, but if you don't, there will be another one - and remember it's you that makes a building into a home.
ReplyDeletei would buy your house dear maria! the commute to portland may be a bit far though... :) oh and now you have me thinking about my bathroom...i am still up to my eyeballs in kitchen and nursery and now you have me thinking about bathrooms! awe, you know i love you for it! xo t
ReplyDeleteOh the pink bath! I love it. The second picture is what I hope for when we move to the country and all I can think when I look at the third is "how the hell did they take that??"
ReplyDeleteGood energy and warm thoughts are always coming your way - from me!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mon
