I've been dreaming of going away. Just for a little while. I've been fantasizing about having a little cabin tucked away somewhere beautiful, where life would just naturally take a slower pace. A place like Pippi's summer cabin overlooking the water in Norway would fit such a dream, don't you think..?

I could totally spend a week (or a month) in that cute little cabin. LOVE the light and airiness! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Laura
What a lovely cabin. Sure I would want to spend time there no problem at all... hope your dreams come true!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend,
Madelon
that is a beautiful place. but i think it's worth reminding that a new space won't necessarily change your pace - it's all about intentionally slowing down. hoping you can find some way to more calm in your life.
ReplyDeleteAw, Julia..! That's very true, and I'm touched by your wishes for more calm in my life. It's rainy here today, which usually makes me a bit melancholy, but I am fine.
ReplyDeleteIt's just nice to fantasize once in a while - especially when the fantasy is such a lovely one, no? ;)

What a view! We are so grateful to spend about a week of the summer at a little stuga (aptly named "Somar Ro") way up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. On a lake and surrounded by soaring pines. It is beautiful and slow. But more than a week and I fear the bloom would be off the rose. Sending you wishes for warm (but frizz-free) days and a peaceful heart.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty place! A few quiet days away sounds perfect to me! SIgh... :)
ReplyDeletewow- these pictures made are beautiful. i lived in norway recently and stayed in a friend's cabin that was a bit like that!
ReplyDeletei love visiting your blog- it makes me dream about having my own house someday. x
OMG yes, I saw this one and love it. Actually everything dear Pippi (love the name! of course.. ) touches turns to beauty.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the 'before - pictures'? HUGE job they have done.
x Charlotta
wow, i love that place. so serene.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Right now, in my own house, with only the cat and I awake, it feels like the pictures. The garden is full of blooms, it's raining lightly and I'm drinking an iced latte catching up on blogs. Right now I have that moment. Thanks for reminding me to cherish it.
ReplyDeleteThat looks ideal! I need to escape my life, just for a bit. To calm down and get my head together. But, no. To bad we live so far apart. I need a lovely helper at the farm this summer, and you would be so perfect!!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lovely cabin. Lotsa light and it's just dreamy on the inside. I wouldn't mind living in a place like that year round. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely, Maria! Hope you are well ~

Wow. I love those cabinets. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be wonderful? I love the wood cabinets in the kitchen - almost like drift wood or something. The color is amazing. When I am out junking I often come across things and imagine using them in a beach house/mountain cabin. Daydreams :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mini escape.
you find the most beautiful places. that bedroom is so cozy and the view is magnificent. i wish i could hole up there for a while. i hope you find a time and place to get away and live slowly.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, serene space. I could FEEL those sheets in that last picture. Stunning.

How absolutely serene and idyllic! And to wake up with such a view inches from one's nose. Sigh. What an amazing retreat it is.

ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful Maria:) Such a peaceful and cocooning atmosphere radiates from this beautiful home, wish I was there right now... Hope you are having a wonderful week my beautiful friend. Big hugs to you ~ Tina xx
ReplyDeleteOh Maria, it's lovely. And going away for a bit is exactly what has been on my mind lately also. Hmm... shall I daydream about Norwegian cabins or write my ten page research paper? ...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, inspiring place you have found! I love the simple decor and clean white walls. Sometimes that is so hard to find when going on a vacation. When my husband and I travel, I spend days researching places to stay. The place I stay is just as important as where I go. I can't do the busy grandma wallpaper and bedding... just can't relax as well.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful escape. Thank you so much for sharing!
I hope you have a chance to get away this year to someplace fabulous! :)
xoxo,
Bonnie
Wow that place is awesome. So peaceful looking. Thank you for sharing it. I will pop across to that blog as well to see a bit more, but will be back again.
ReplyDeleteOh perfect, the place looks so scrubbed, in the most beautiful way. I'm just rummaging for my passport to join you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. My stepfather has a house on an island off Sweden. That rock looks so familiar. Thank you for posting this.
ReplyDeleteAhhhwww! Lovely home!
ReplyDeleteOne of these days we will get our own little vacation retreat in good, old Sweden. And if I (for any silly reason) can't meet you there - then I will give you the key dear - so you can enjoy it with your family!
Cyber hug,
Mon

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place! I'm always refreshed and inspired when I stop by your blog. It was so nice to hear from you the other day - and I owe you a long overdue e-mail. I'm blaming it on lambing season - all that cuteness has taken over my life! :)
ReplyDeleteyes, it would definitely fit the dream. though i'm not sure they could convince me to leave. hope you are well and full of daydreams... -k
