Lately

I've been dreaming of going away. Just for a little while. I've been fantasizing about having a little cabin tucked away somewhere beautiful, where life would just naturally take a slower pace. A place like Pippi's summer cabin overlooking the water in Norway would fit such a dream, don't you think..?

  3. that is a beautiful place. but i think it's worth reminding that a new space won't necessarily change your pace - it's all about intentionally slowing down. hoping you can find some way to more calm in your life.

  4. Aw, Julia..! That's very true, and I'm touched by your wishes for more calm in my life. It's rainy here today, which usually makes me a bit melancholy, but I am fine.

It's just nice to fantasize once in a while - especially when the fantasy is such a lovely one, no? ;)

  5. What a view! We are so grateful to spend about a week of the summer at a little stuga (aptly named "Somar Ro") way up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. On a lake and surrounded by soaring pines. It is beautiful and slow. But more than a week and I fear the bloom would be off the rose. Sending you wishes for warm (but frizz-free) days and a peaceful heart.

  10. Beautiful. Right now, in my own house, with only the cat and I awake, it feels like the pictures. The garden is full of blooms, it's raining lightly and I'm drinking an iced latte catching up on blogs. Right now I have that moment. Thanks for reminding me to cherish it.

  11. That looks ideal! I need to escape my life, just for a bit. To calm down and get my head together. But, no. To bad we live so far apart. I need a lovely helper at the farm this summer, and you would be so perfect!!

  19. Wouldn't that be wonderful? I love the wood cabinets in the kitchen - almost like drift wood or something. The color is amazing. When I am out junking I often come across things and imagine using them in a beach house/mountain cabin. Daydreams :)
    Thanks for the mini escape.

  28. Oh Maria, it's lovely. And going away for a bit is exactly what has been on my mind lately also. Hmm... shall I daydream about Norwegian cabins or write my ten page research paper? ...

  29. What a beautiful, inspiring place you have found! I love the simple decor and clean white walls. Sometimes that is so hard to find when going on a vacation. When my husband and I travel, I spend days researching places to stay. The place I stay is just as important as where I go. I can't do the busy grandma wallpaper and bedding... just can't relax as well.

Such a beautiful escape. Thank you so much for sharing!

I hope you have a chance to get away this year to someplace fabulous! :)

    xoxo,
    Bonnie
