Snow Days

Busy hands working outside, building a snow fort,

trekking up and down the yard delivering shredded ice

to be shaped into bricks with an old metal pan.

Busy hands working inside, hanging a new set of pretty curtains up high,

and trying to capture that beautiful, ever-elusive winter's light, bouncing off the wonderful snow outside.

And the dog, you may ask?

Busy taking it all in, ascertaining that indeed, this is a good life.

  3. Hi sweet Maria. Oh my goodness, that snow fort is awesome!! I'm sure Bill is 'Dad of the Year' all the time, but especially today!!! My girls will be so envious when I show them...lucky, lucky Noah:) Loving your shower curtains too, I must add :D Enjoy that snow, we are in for our first truly very warm day for the summer. Lots of love to you as always, dear friend ~ Txx

  4. Oh my goodness, that is a pretty sweet fort. You can rent out rooms like the ice hotel in Iceland, no?

And I think you got the winter light just right.

Our Lab runs ahead of us in the snow as if she is wearing skates. She makes me like a snow day.

You have much more snow that we do this year. And to be truthful, you're welcome to it!

  5. You have a lot of the white stuff, as do we! I think the fort is very deluxe. More like an igloo!! I love the white curtain in your pretty bath...I just bought a white one hoping it would give the feeling of more room...I don't think that is going to happen! ;-D

Hope all is well in your world, Maria!

    XO,
    Jane

  8. That snow fort looks like so much fun! I remember playing with one of those "brick" molds as a kid. We were never patient enough to build the entire igloo though. It looks like Noah (and Bill) made the best of the snow!
    Happy Weekend.

  19. Awesome fort!!! And that high curtain in the shower is amazing as usual! PS. I finally have some pics of our house up, but really the pics don't do it justice. We ended up using Mindful Gray and Dovetail by Sherwin Williams on the outside of the house, with a black door. I love it. Enjoy the fort!
