Busy hands working outside, building a snow fort,
trekking up and down the yard delivering shredded ice
to be shaped into bricks with an old metal pan.
Busy hands working inside, hanging a new set of pretty curtains up high,
and trying to capture that beautiful, ever-elusive winter's light, bouncing off the wonderful snow outside.
And the dog, you may ask?
Busy taking it all in, ascertaining that indeed, this is a good life.
that snow fort is seriously impressive! and your dog looks very cute there. love dogs that love the snow.
ReplyDeletethat snow fort is amazing!! looks like a little igloo. and those curtains are dreamy indeed. i am in love with your washroom.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhhhhh.
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Maria. Oh my goodness, that snow fort is awesome!! I'm sure Bill is 'Dad of the Year' all the time, but especially today!!! My girls will be so envious when I show them...lucky, lucky Noah:) Loving your shower curtains too, I must add :D Enjoy that snow, we are in for our first truly very warm day for the summer. Lots of love to you as always, dear friend ~ Txx
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that is a pretty sweet fort. You can rent out rooms like the ice hotel in Iceland, no?
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you got the winter light just right.
Our Lab runs ahead of us in the snow as if she is wearing skates. She makes me like a snow day.
You have much more snow that we do this year. And to be truthful, you're welcome to it!
xo Jane
You have a lot of the white stuff, as do we! I think the fort is very deluxe. More like an igloo!! I love the white curtain in your pretty bath...I just bought a white one hoping it would give the feeling of more room...I don't think that is going to happen! ;-D
ReplyDeleteHope all is well in your world, Maria!
XO,
Jane
Hi! I am new to your blog. I love your photos and sweet, thoughtful writing.
ReplyDeleteYour dog is very cute :)
That snow fort looks like so much fun! I remember playing with one of those "brick" molds as a kid. We were never patient enough to build the entire igloo though. It looks like Noah (and Bill) made the best of the snow!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend.
I *always* wanted to make a snow fort like that--looks like such a fun weekend! xoxo {av}
ReplyDeleteYour puppy knows exactly how to soak it all up! That's such a great shot!
ReplyDeleteShucks! That makes me wish we would have built a snow fort when we had a bunch of snow a couple months ago. That is pretty cool!!
ReplyDeleteI just love glimpses of sunlight in the winter. It makes me happy! :)
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Beth.
What a wonderful fort. And such patience.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful fort!
ReplyDeleteI'm so thankful my boys were not looking over my shoulder as I read this post! The snow bricks!!! Even I am jealous. What a brilliant idea. Holy smokes! I am definitely committing that to memory should we ever get a snowfall of this proportion again!
ReplyDeleteFirst time here to your beautiful blog!
ReplyDeleteI adore your post! Actual snow bricks...now that is snow passion!
Visit with me anytime...I'd love to share my artful and creative world with you too!

the snow fort/igloo is really impressive! it looks like a lot of work and fun. the winter light indoors is gorgeous. i hadn't stopped to think how different it is from summer light.
ReplyDeletei hope you're staying warm, maria!
just fabulous... inside and out... that fort rocks! xx
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the dog's life is just the best, isn't it? And that fort your husband is making is amazing! Hoping you catch more of the light, it looks so pretty in your bathroom!

Awesome fort!!! And that high curtain in the shower is amazing as usual! PS. I finally have some pics of our house up, but really the pics don't do it justice. We ended up using Mindful Gray and Dovetail by Sherwin Williams on the outside of the house, with a black door. I love it. Enjoy the fort!
ReplyDeleteThose bricks made of shredded ice look like serious business. You have some dedicated men in your life. Your curtains looks so pretty and your lighting is perfect. Then there is your dog, what a fabulous pose. I'm inspired.
ReplyDeletethat snow fort is so professional! and i love your interior!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Thanks for the smile. Stay warm! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful life indeed dear Maria....I miss you lady! Love these shots! Such a cool fort, beautiful light & bathroom and that sweet doggie....what's her name again? I love it all. Hope you are well & happy hunnie!

Qué buenos los ladrillos !! pero ese baño me tiene mal de lo lindo que es !!! que pases bien el invierno, te va a tratar mejor que el calor. Recién llego de Córdoba de nuestras vacaciones. Te mando un beso grande !!!
